What is the NYC HS Honors Music Festival?

Students for this event were chosen from a pool of nominations sent by their music teacher and for Modern Band by audition. Through a variety of parameters a final list was created representing the highest skilled musicians in Concert Band, Orchestra, Jazz, Chorus, and Modern Band.

​This event aims to give the top students from various New York City music programs a chance to tackle difficult repertoire with other top students to put on a performance that is sure to be something to remember.
Furthermore, in addition to playing high level repertoire with other like minded student musicians, students will have the privilege of working with world renown conductors that have been brought in specifically to work with all the students. These conductors are often professional conductors and college professors. Not only will this offer an experience of working with these amazing musicians, they can also offer an insight into what music making at the collegiate level is like.
